AFTER GLOW

After Glow captures that fleeting moment when the day is over, but the light isn’t quite ready to leave.

A distant city rises from the horizon, dark and imperfect against a sky still alive with pinks, soft corals and flashes of light. Below, turquoise water holds the last traces of colour, blurring the boundary between what is real and what is reflected.

Built through layers of paint, texture, scraping and instinctive marks, the piece sits somewhere between a cityscape and a memory. There is no particular place here — it is a feeling of somewhere you may have been, or somewhere you’d like to disappear to.

For me, the afterglow is the beautiful part that remains. A reminder that an ending doesn’t have to mean darkness — sometimes it leaves behind the most extraordinary colour.

Bold from a distance and full of small, unexpected details up close, After Glow is a statement piece, but there is a quietness within it too — a moment of stillness after everything else has passed.
