About Denise

I never expected to become an artist.

After years of raising my family, building businesses and helping others, I found myself wondering what came next. Like many women, I reached a point where life looked very different and I needed something that was entirely my own.

In 2025, following the loss of my sister, I picked up a paintbrush for the first time. What started as a way to process grief quickly became a passion and a source of healing.

Working intuitively, I create textured abstract paintings inspired by memory, emotion and landscape. Layers are built, scraped back and rebuilt, allowing each painting to evolve naturally and find its own direction.

Although I only began painting later in life, my work has already found homes with collectors across the UK and has been exhibited in Dorset galleries and featured in Dorset Living Magazine and local Press publications.

Based in Dorset, I continue to explore colour, texture and atmosphere through original paintings that invite the viewer to bring their own memories and emotions to the work.
