A Break in the Weather

This piece grew from building layer upon layer of soft greys, blues and flashes of turquoise, allowing the landscape to slowly find its own way.

I wanted the sky to feel heavy and unsettled, with the light beginning to break through and catch on the water below. I kept the horizon loose, adding small marks and textures that suggest a distant shoreline without placing it anywhere in particular.

The tiny touches of pink and warmer colour came last, bringing a little unexpected life into an otherwise quiet palette.

For me, it captures that moment when the weather begins to turn — still wild and unpredictable, but with the promise of something brighter coming through.
