Where the Sky meets Silence

For me, this painting is about those rare moments when everything feels still. When the noise disappears, your shoulders drop, and for a little while there is nowhere else you need to be.

Soft turquoise water stretches into the distance beneath a huge, open sky, where clouds seem to drift and dissolve into one another. Along the horizon, delicate touches of colour and texture suggest a faraway shoreline — just enough detail to draw you in without telling you exactly where you are.

I wanted this piece to feel like somewhere between a memory and a dream. A place that feels familiar even if you have never actually been there.

The layers of soft blues, chalky whites and gentle flashes of pink create a sense of light and movement, while the open water brings a quietness to the piece. It changes as you look at it — atmospheric and expansive from a distance, then full of subtle marks and texture up close.
