Somewhere In Between
Somewhere In Between is a vibrant, heavily layered abstract exploring the space between chaos and calm.
Turquoise, electric pink, soft blue and flashes of warm yellow are built up, scraped back and worked over, leaving traces of earlier layers visible beneath the surface. Heavy high-gloss drips run through the painting, catching and reflecting the light and creating a depth and movement that changes as you move around the piece.
The contrast between the raw, scratched texture and the almost liquid gloss is difficult to fully capture in photographs — this is a painting that really comes alive in person.
Created intuitively, without a fixed destination, the piece evolved through adding, removing and revealing until it found its own balance.
Somewhere In Between is about those places in life that don’t fit neatly into one thing or another — not quite where you were, not quite where you’re going, but finding something beautiful in the middle.
