Doorways II

This piece explores the idea that not all doorways feel the same — some invite us gently, while others ask for courage.

The three vertical forms sit side by side, each holding its own energy. The vibrant reds carry confidence, strength, and forward movement, while the softer pink introduces vulnerability, openness, and emotion. Together, they reflect the different ways we experience change — sometimes bold and certain, sometimes tender and unsure.

The surrounding layers and imperfect edges are intentional. They suggest history, memory, and the traces of what has come before, reminding us that we never step into a new chapter untouched by the past. The spaces between each form act as quiet pauses — moments to breathe before moving on.

This painting is about choice and presence. It reflects the experience of standing before multiple possibilities, recognising that each doorway leads somewhere different, and trusting yourself enough to step through when the time feels right.
